I started working at Meridian Marine as a labourer/confined space attendant in 2010, just out of high school. With Meridian Marine as my sponsor, I started my Steamfitting/Pipefitting apprenticeship in 2012, and achieved my Red Seal Certification in 2015. In 2017, I achieved my CWB Welding Supervisors Certification, and since then have been Foreman overseeing pipework, steelworks, welding, quality control, and new construction aspects of the business.
I have been part of a large variety of projects including vessel new builds, offshore repair and maintenance, oil/gas pressure piping, large/small vessel refits, etc. I have been very lucky to be part of a very experienced and knowledgable crew, both during my apprenticeship and currently. We have developed a very diverse skillset, which allows Meridian Marine to continue excelling in all aspects of the Marine sector.
